• Biden was born on November 20, 1942 to Catherine Eugenia Biden and Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. (November 13, 1915 – September 2, 2002).•Family
• Biden's father was wealthy but had suffered several financial setbacks by the time his son was born. In 1953,the Bidens moved into an apartment in Claymont, Delaware, where they lived for several years before again moving to a house in Wilmington, Delaware.

EDUCATION

VICE PRESIDENT - FIRST TERM(2009 – 13)
• Soon after the election, he was appointed chairman of president-elect Obama's transition team.
